When it comes to memorizing the Word of God, it’s never too early to start! Encouraging our children to memorize Bible verses from an early age is a great way to “train them up in the way they should go.” (Proverbs 22:6) Here are 10 easy Bible verses that you can teach your child.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”

GALATIANS 5:22-23 NIV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

PSALM 136:1 ESV

EPHESIANS 6:1 ESV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

ROMANS 3:23 NIV

PSALM 56:3-4 NKJV
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

PHILIPPIANS 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

JOHN 3:16 NIV

If you’re having a hard time teaching your child to memorize Bible verses, be patient with them. Use creative games to make Scripture memory fun and engaging! And perhaps study and memorize learning the verses along with them, so that you can both hide the truth of God’s Word in your heart.
